X-WR-CALDESC:CWTC is a partnership between the Georgia Division of Family a
nd Children Services and Georgia State University’s School of Social Work
Professional Excellence Program. They offer training to community partners
  (e.g. DFCS\, law enforcement\, placement providers\, early care\, educati
 on\, behavioral health\, juvenile courts\, pediatric health providers\, Co
urt Appointed Special Advocates\, and other community and government organ
izations) throughout the state of Georgia. We share in the belief that bri
nging everyone to the same table creates an opportunity for community part
ners to have a shared understanding of issues facing children and families
and also strengthens collaborations to promote better outcomes for Georgi
a’s children. \n\nThis particular training is designed to improve our unde
rstanding of Secondary Traumatic Stress (STS) and its impact. We will lear
n how to assess STS symptoms in ourselves and others\, explore factors tha
t help to protect all of us from the negative effects of STS\, and discove
r strategies to use these protective factors to manage STS. \n\nSpace is l
